🌙 The night before

  • Check the weather forecast and the closing day of every place you plan to visit
  • Book boat tickets, park permits or guides that need booking ahead
  • Top up fuel or charge, and check your Touch ’n Go balance for tolls and parking
  • Download offline maps for areas with weak mobile signal
  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going and when you will be back

🎒 Pack these

  • Drinking water and a few snacks
  • Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses
  • Insect repellent
  • A light rain jacket or umbrella
  • Power bank and charging cable
  • Cash in small notes for stalls, parking and tips
  • IC or passport
  • Basic first aid and your personal medicine
  • Towel and a change of clothes for beaches or waterfalls
  • A bag for wet clothes and for taking your rubbish home

☀️ On the day

  • Leave early to avoid traffic and the midday heat
  • Ask for the last boat or last entry time when you arrive
  • Dress modestly for mosques, temples and other places of worship
  • Take only photos, leave only footprints
  • Head back before dark on rural and hill roads
